Inviting members and managing access

How to invite users to your organization, manage pending invitations, and control who has access to Cuez Admin, Storydesk, and Cuez Rundown.

Cuez Admin is where owners invite new users and manage access to the organization and its groups.

Adding or inviting members to a group or workspace

Owners can add existing members or invite new people from the 'Access' tab of any group or workspace.

  1. Navigate to 'Groups' in the left sidebar.

  2. Select the group or sub-group from the tree. To give access to a single Storydesk or Rundown project only, select that workspace instead.

  3. Open the 'Access' tab.

  4. In the 'Add or invite' field, search for existing organization members or type email addresses to invite new people. You can add several people at once.

  5. Select a role from the dropdown: 'Viewer', 'Contributor', or 'Admin'. 'Contributor' is the default.

  6. Click 'Assign' to add an existing organization member, or 'Send invites' to invite a new email address.

The 'Assigned' list shows everyone with access to this group or workspace and their role.

  • Members marked 'Inherited' received access from a parent group. Their role can still be changed from the dropdown in this row.

  • Organization owners always show as 'Admin' in this list.

Members added at this level inherit access to any sub-groups or workspaces beneath it, but do not gain access to other groups or workspaces unless explicitly added.

Group or sub-group admins can also invite people from their group's 'Access' tab, even if their organization role is 'Member'.

Inviting a member to your organization

Use the Members page to invite an owner, or someone who does not need access to a group or workspace yet. Members invited this way see no projects until you add them to a group or workspace.

  1. Navigate to 'Members' in the left sidebar.

  2. Click 'Invite member' in the top-right corner.

  3. In the Invite member modal, enter the user's email address.

  4. Select their Organization Role: 'Member' (default) or 'Owner'.

    • Member - can access groups they are assigned to. Group roles are assigned separately.

    • Owner - full access to all of Cuez Admin.

  5. Click 'Send invitation'.

The invite opens in a modal where you enter the invitee's details.

What happens after you invite someone

The user receives an invitation email from Kinde, the identity provider used by Cuez. They click the link, set up their account, and confirm the invitation.

If they are already signed in with a different account, they can choose to log in with the invited email address or stay signed in as their current account.

After accepting, what users see in Cuez Admin depends on their role. Owners and group admins land on the 'Dashboard'. Everyone else sees a list of the Storydesk and Rundown projects they were added to.

When you reach your user limit

Your organization has a maximum number of users. Once you reach it, you see a 'User limit reached' message and cannot add more members. To add more members, remove members who no longer need access, or contact [email protected] to request an increase to your user limit.

Managing existing members

The Members page lists all members in your organization with their role and the date they joined.

To find a specific member, use the 'Search members' field at the top of the table.

To view or edit a member, click 'View' in their row. The member detail page shows:

  • Their name, email, and join date

  • Their Organization Role (editable via dropdown; click 'Save' to apply changes)

  • Their Group Assignments - which groups they have direct access to, shown as either a hierarchy tree (Full view) or a flat list (List view)

Changing a member's role

  1. Navigate to 'Members' and click 'View' next to the member.

  2. In the Member Details panel, update the Organization Role dropdown.

  3. Click 'Save'.

Removing a member

  1. Navigate to 'Members' and click 'View' next to the member.

  2. In the 'Danger Zone' panel, click 'Remove member'.

  3. Confirm the removal.

Removing a member revokes their access to the organization and all its groups.

Revoking a pending invitation

To cancel an invitation before the user has accepted it, find the pending invitation in the Members list and use the revoke action.
